Business Strategy Consulting & Peer Advisory
Business strategy is the blueprint, in the form of plans, objectives, approaches, and goals, to construct organizational success. Without a solid, detailed, measurable blueprint, even the best and most skilled workers would be unable to construct anything close to the success envisioned. And, just as a blueprint may change during construction (following a pre-approved change control process), the business strategy will change in the course of execution ... the Governance Conundrum!

This diagram shows the different domains that will influence business results.
Progressive Intelligence’s business strategy consulting and peer advisory services focus on all levels of senior management, from the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards to the C-level and other senior leadership. Unlike high-level, high-paid consultants, our business strategy consulting begins with the strategy and ends with the execution.
From the Board directives, through fiscal year business planning to the budgeting process, all must be in alignment with the strategic direction of the organization. Business planning and the budgeting process provide a perspective – a snapshot – of how to achieve the strategic objectives.
Just as your organization’s approach to strategic planning begins with assessing the internal and external environment, and anticipating the influences that will change the landscape, so our business strategy consulting begins. A deliverable from this process is a “Strategic Perspectives” document, used to build or adjust the business plan and current organizational objectives. The Strategic Perspectives document provides insight into six-to-ten different domains that will influence business results (see the diagram above).

Strategic Risk Management Advisory
Areas that potentially harbor strategic risk include: organizational alignment, strategic planning, alignment between strategy and business objectives, organizational culture, and business leadership. Managing strategic risk begins with how well strategy is understood and executed within an organization. In his book, ”Putting Strategy to Work, The Blueprint for Transforming Ideas into Action”, Mr. Eddie Obeng recommends five questions to determine the understanding of strategy within an organization:
"Why is your organization in business?"
"How would you sum up how your organization thinks it can be, or is, successful?"
"On how many occasions has your organization reorganized or restructured its operations?"
"Did it succeed the last time it reorganized?"
"How many performance improvement initiatives does your organization have underway?”
Critical to understanding strategy is documenting the organization’s strategies and incorporating them into short-term (3 to 12 months) and long-term (13 to 36 months) objectives – S.M.A.R.T. objectives. Supporting the attainment of these objectives by developing and working a plan is a critical overall component of the strategy execution portion of managing strategic risk.

Business Leadership Strategy
Business and management advisory services, as delivered by Progressive Intelligence, are based on “Saying what you will do, and doing what you say” or “Talking the talk and walking the walk”. All will agree that effective business leadership is critical to an organization’s success -- knowing what you will do as the business leader.
Our business leadership strategy consulting and advisory services focus on “strategy” (what you will do) and “leadership” (how you will get the results). In many organizations, there is often a chasm between a solid strategy and the ability to deliver results.
Progressive Intelligence's business leadership strategy consultancy services deliver value working with the organizational leadership - focused on both strategy and execution.
